Applications are invited from the youths of weavers families for Certificate course on Handloom Entrepreneur to be started tentatively from 10th of April, 2017 in Indian Institute of Handloom Technology at Fulia, Guwahati, Salem, Varanasi , Jodhpur and Bargarh. The course has been designed with pragmatic approach to develop Handloom Entrepreneurs with required skill on technical as well as managerial matters and enable young weavers to enhance Entrepreneurship, Management and Computer skills and sensitize them on issues of Quality Control, Packaging, Zero defect and Zero effect besides some component of technical knowledge so that they successfully emerge as Handloom Entrepreneurs. The details of the course are furnished below:

1. Name of the Course. Handloom Entrepreneurs

2. Batch Strength. Batch size for the course will be 20 students

3. Qualification and Eligibility Conditions .The qualification of the applicant should be 10th Std and above. The applicant should have been deriving livelihood from weaving and his household should be able to support themselves during the period of course. Due preference will be given to women applicants and also diversity by admitting students from different States/ Clusters.

4. Age Limit. The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 30 years as on 10.03.2017.

5. Duration of the Course. The duration of the course will be 4 months with 7 hours per day 6 days per week pattern. In addition to this, 100 hours for Tutorials / Project Work/ Self Learning are also provided.

6. Application Form A copy of prescribed application form is enclosed herewith.

7. Certificates to be submitted Photocopy of the following certificates are required to be submitted alongwith the application:

a) SSC/SSLC or equivalent examination marks list.

b) Marks sheets of Higher Qualifications

c) Cast/Community Certificate.

d) Proof for engagement in Handloom Weaving Profession.

e) Proof of Age (Birth Certificate or Transfer Certificate)

8. Curriculum The training will be imparted on the following topics:

a) Entrepreneurship & Management

(ii) Marketing Management

(iii) Skill Development

b) Technical

(i) Textile Designing

(ii) Weaving

(iii) Wet Processing

(iv) Testing and Quality Control

(v) Branding and Packaging

c) General

(i) Computer and Internet Communication

(ii) Schemes of Government Institutions and Financial Institutions for Handloom Weavers Benefits

(iii) Tutorials/Project work/Self-learning

(iv) Technical visits for 3 days and internship for 15 days

9. Stipend & Other Allowances Each candidate admitted into the course shall be eligible for the following stipend and allowances.

a) Stipend @ Rs 210/- per day (Working days) for 4 months.

b) Lodging expenses @ Rs 200/- per day for 15 days during internship.
