Positions Open (Postdoctoral Fellow, JRF/SRF, Project Assistant)

Creative & Advanced Research Based On Nanomaterials (CARBON) Laboratory is actively engaged in the cutting edge research in the area of nanostructured carbon materials, Carbon-MEMS, electrospun polymer and carbon nanofibers for their applications in Healthcare, Energy and Environment. We seek excellent young minds to contribute in the following areas with their creativity, dedication and commitment to work hard in a team:

(i) Nanostructured carbon materials and Carbon MEMS (ii) Li ion battery and Supercapacitors: Assembly and Testing

Positions available and Essential Qualifications:

1 Postdoctoral Fellow (PhD in Chemistry/Physics/Chemical Engg./Materials Sci. Engg.) 1 JRF/SRF (M.Tech. in Chemical Engg./Materials Sci. Engg. with minimum 60% marks) 1 Project Assistant (B.Tech. and MBA with minimum 60% marks)

Note: All positions are for one year initially however may be extended up to three years subjected to performance, as evaluated by the duly formed committee.

Desirable experience: Postdoctoral fellow (PDF): Hands on experience with characterization facilities like FESEM, TEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, Electrochemical testing, Li ion battery testing, Glove box handling, Synthesis of nanomaterials. Polymer and Carbon Materials. A postdoctoral fellow is expected to lead a team of PhD, M.Tech. and Undergraduate researchers and also help the Project investigator in lab management with the help of Project Assistants. Experience in writing successful research grants, project reports etc. will be preferred. Excellent communication and technical writing skills is also desirable. (Monthly stipend: 45000 INR consolidated)

JRF/SRF: M.Tech. project related to any of the above areas will be preferred. If not, then willingness to learn something new and challenging is must. Excellent communication and technical writing skills is desirable. Upon qualifying the set criteria by the department, applicable candidates may register for PhD program also. (Monthly stipend: As per the DST norms)

Project Assistant: Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, Sending emails), Website handling, Excellent communication and technical writing skills is also desirable. Experience in any educational institute/Govt. R&D labs for lab management, records keeping, lab purchase and documentation will be preferred. (Monthly stipend: 18000-22000 INR as per the experience)
