Only online registration of Application will be allowed on the website ( www.wbhrb.in ) between 10.10.2017 to 23.10.2017( before 8 PM ). Posts are temporary but likely to be permanent in future. The relevant rules and necessary particulars are stated in the following paragraph A candidate should verify from the notified rules that he/she is eligible. The condition prescribed cannot be relaxed. The recruitment will be made by selection but where a large number of applications are received, as a result of Advertisement, the Board may, for the purpose of short-listing, hold a preliminary examination. Qualification : Essential :
- i) MBBS Degree included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956 ) .
- ii) Weightage shall be given to candidates holding recognized Postgraduate degree (for disciplines under the Specialities group) and recognized Postdoctoral degree (for disciplines under the Super specialities group) in the concerned discipline in accordance with the Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998 framed by the Medical Council of India, published in Part III, Section 4, of the Gazette of India, dated the 5th day of December, 1998, as subsequently amended, and which are included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
Desirable :
- i) Publications in journals indexed with Index Medicus or National Level journals of the National Academic Organizations;
- ii) Two years service experience in rural areas;
NOTE : Specialities & Super Specialities groups respectively include the following disciplines ;
- a) Specialties Group :
Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Bio-Physics, Pharmacology, Pathology, Micro-biology, Community Medicine, Forensic medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, TB & Chest Medicine, Psychiatry, Skin, STD and Leprosy, Orthopaedics, Anesthesiology, Radio-Diagnosis, Radiotherapy. Opthalmology, ENT, Physical Medicine and rehabilitation, Tropical Medicine, Virology, Nutrition & Metabolic diseases, Immuno-haematology and Blood Transfusion, and Nuclear and experimental Medicine;
- b) Super Specialities Group :
Cardiology, Endocrinology, Medical Gastro-enterology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Cardio-vascular & Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Neuro-surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Gastro-enterology, Medical Onchology, Surgical Onchology and Haematology; Explanation: Unless specified otherwise, the expression Recognized, for the purposes contained in these rules, shall pertain to any medical qualification acquired / granted from a Medical College included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) being either permitted under section 10 A or recognized under sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Age : Not more than 45 years on the 1st day of January of 2017. Age relaxation may be given to such doctors who have served under this State Government, to an extent equivalent to the period of such service, subject to a maximum of five years: Provided that age may also be relaxable for the candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes as per Government rules or orders for the time being in force. NOTE:
- 1) Should be registered as medical practitioner with the West Bengal Medical Council / Medical Council of India / Any Recognized State Medical Council.
- 2) Age As recorded in Madhyamik or equivalent certificate will only be acceptable;
- 3) The claim of candidates for relaxation of age as a Govt. employee should be proved by a certificate from the appropriate authority showing the period of his/her continuous service under Government and the same should be furnished when called for;
- 4) Medical Officers of West Bengal Health Service & West bengal Public Health cum Administrative Service have to obtain NOC from appointing authority.
- 5) Candidates have to upload the Medical Degree Certificate and West Bengal Medical Council Registration Certificate.
- 6) And also Postgraduate/ Post doctoral Degree Certificate, if any.
- 7) Candidates must fulfil the essential Qualifications by the closing date.
Fee : Candidates must submit the application fee amounting to Rs. 210/- (Rupees two hundred ten only) through Bank Counter in any branch of Banks participating in the GRIPS ( Govt. Receipt Portal System ), Govt. of West Bengal through duplicate challan, as generated after filling up the page 1 of application Form. Govt. Receipt Head of Account is 0051-00-104-002-16. It may please be noted that after payment to Bank, Candidates have to log in to the site with the log in ID & Password, already provided to them after registration through SMS/ Email for payment verification and filling up rest portion of the application form. Money order, Bank Draft, Cash etc. will not be acceptable. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fee excepting Candidates belonging to SC/ST category of West Bengal and persons with disabilities specified under disabilities rule, 1999 (certificates obtained before the Advertisement date) who do not require to pay any fee. Such exemption of fee is, however, not applicable to any OBC (category A or B) candidate. No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserved for any other examination.
Application shall be made in the format, as available in the Health Recruitment Board Website (www.wbhrb.in). Application received after the closing date shall be rejected. In case, any of the statement made in the application be subsequently found to be false within the knowledge of the candidates- his/her candidature will be liable to cancellation, and even if appointed to a post on the results of this examination his/her appointment will be liable to be terminated. Willful suppression of any material fact will also be similarly dealt with. Candidates should take particular note that entries in their application submitted to the Board must be made correctly against all the items which will be treated as final and no alteration and addition in this regard will be entertained after full submission of the application. Application not duly filled in or found incomplete or defective in any respect or without fee will be liable to rejection. Particulars and Certificates required:

- (c) The West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB), may require such further proof or particulars from the candidates as it may consider necessary and may make enquiries regarding eligibility.
Original Certificates relating to citizenship (by registration), age, qualifications, caste (SC/ST/BC), Physical disability (40% and above) will have to be submitted when the WBHRB asks for them. If any candidate fails to furnish any certificate or any other relevant document or information relating to his/her candidature within the time specified by the Board, his/her claim for allotment may be passed over without further reference to him/her. A candidate should note that his/her admission to the Examination/ Interview will be deemed provisional subject to determination of his/her eligibility in all respects. If at any stage even after issue of the letter of appointment a candidate is found ineligible for admission to this Examination, his/her candidature will be cancelled without further reference to him/her.
