Subject: -Selection of Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi.

  1. The CPCB was established under provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The CPCB exercises functions related to prevention and control of pollution. The Member Secretary shall be a full-time incumbent.
  2. The following are the terms and conditions for the post of Member Secretary CPCB, Delhi:
1. Scale of Pay Rs. Pay Band Rs. 37,000 67,000 with GP Rs 8900 (pre-revised Rs. 16400-18000)
2. Method of Recruitment By deputation including short-terms contract
3. Terms of Conditions The Member Secretary will be governed by the terms and conditions applicable to an officer of equivalent rank under the Central Government.
4. (a) Qualification and Experience Officers of the Central or State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or University or a Government Research Institution or an Autonomous or Statutory body(a) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or (ii) with four years of regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in Pay Band of Rs. 37,000 67,000 With GP of Rs 8700(pre-revised Rs 16400-18000) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department, and (b) Possessing the following qualification and experience:(i) Masters degree in Physical Science relating to environment or Degree in Engineering in a discipline relating to environment from a recognised institute or university or equivalent ; and (ii) Fifteen years experience (as on the date of receipt of application) in Government Department / Institution or Central Public Sector Undertaking or University/ Government Research Institution or Autonomous or Statutory Body at the administrative or managerial level with practical experience in the matters relating to scientific, engineering or management aspects of pollution control.
(b)desirable Ph.D in physical science relating to environment or M.Tech in Engineering in a discipline relating to environment form a recognized institute or university or equivalent
5. Age Limit The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not be exceeding fifty four years as on the closing date of the receipt of applications.
6. Tenure Period of deputation including period of deputation in another excadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department or the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed five years.
