NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up of the post of Senior Research Fellow on contract basis in the DBT funded Project entitled A multi-component intervention to reduce home exposure to second hand smoke (SHS) during pregnancy the IMPRESS study (Interventions for mothers in pregnancy to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke)under Dr.Prabha S Chandra, Prof.& Head, Department of Psychiatry & Principal Investigator. The project is a DBT/Medical Research Council, UK funded project for 18 months. It is a three centre study with NIMHANS, Bengaluru: ARK foundation, Dhaka, Bangladesh: and University of Liverpool.

This project involves qualitative formative research in order to develop an intervention to reduce second hand home smoke exposure in pregnancy and a pilot randomized controlled trial of the intervention. Data will be collected from community antenatal clinics and anganwadi centres.

As the projects involves interviews and interventions with women during pregnancy, we

would prefer women candidates who know kannada.

3	Educational Qualification	M.Phil in clinical psychology/ psychiatric social work or MSc in psychology with two years research experience specially in qualitative interviews.
4	Experience	MA in psychology, candidates should have minimum 2 years of research experience. Fresh M.Phil in clinical psychology may apply.
5	Job Description	Collecting qualitative data from antenatal clinics. Should be fluent in kannada-writing, reading and speaking. Development of intervention. Administration of questionnaires as part of the pilot randomized controlled trial.
6	Age limit	35 Years
7	Emoluments	Rs.28,000/- Consolidated
8.	Duration of the post	Initial appointment will be for a period of 6 months extendable depending upon the performance of the candidate
