NITM.1/(213-Estt)/Civil/DST/Bakim/2016-959 Date: 29.11.2017 Walk-in Interview on 6th December, 2017 for JRF (Junior Research Fellow) position Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for filling up the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the project (YSS/2014/000917) sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)-DST, New Delhi- Govt. of India, which is currently undergoing in the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Manipur under the principal investigator (PI) of Dr. Bakimchandra Oinam, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Manipur. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the tenure of the project. The details of the ongoing project are mentioned below:

Tenure of the Employment: |
The position is purely temporary and ends along with the project (2 years from start of the 2nd year of the project). It doesnt confirm any permanent position at NIT Manipur. Appointment shall be made on contract basis for a period of six months initially, which may be extended further depending on the performance evaluation on six months basis and on the approval of the sanctioning agency SERB till the end of the project. Since the appointment is for a time bound project, the candidate is essentially required to work for successful execution of the project objectives and completion of the project. If the monthly performance of the candidate is not satisfactory then the PI has the right to terminate the contract. |
Mode of Selection: Interested eligible candidates should report at Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, NIT Manipur at 10 AM on 06.12.2017. Candidates reaching after 10:30 AM will not be entertained. The interview is scheduled to be start at 11:30 am. Only those whose final results of the essential qualification have been declared as on the date of walk in interview will be eligible. All interested candidates are requested to appear for an interview with the following in two sets. 1. An application stating your research/career goals 2. A detailed application format as given in this advertisement (Application as per the provided application format should also be sent to the PI by email in advance) 3. Degree certificates (original and attested photocopy) 4. Proof for GATE/NET qualification (original and attested photocopy) 5. Thesis/ project report and publications Candidates may also note the following general terms and conditions: 1. Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented at the time of interview. 2. Mere fulfillment of the required qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be shortlisted or called for interview. The selection committee also reserves right for not selecting any candidate/offering lower post in case candidates are not found suitable for the applied post. 3. NIT Manipur reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for short-listing of eligible candidates satisfying advertised qualification and requirement of the project post. 4. No TA/DA will be provided to the candidates for attending the interview. Calling for interviewing is not a guarantee for selection. 5. No communications will be entertained for being called/not- called and/or selected/not selected for the advertised position. 6. The selected candidate can opt for Ph.D. program announced by NIT Manipur (twice a year) in case they are interested in pursuing Ph.D. at NIT Manipur as per rules and regulations of the PhD program at NIT Manipur in the project related work area.
