CONTRACTUAL APPOINTMENT FOR COACHES & INSTRUCTORS

The Sports Board of IIT Guwahati is seeking passionate and dynamic Physical Education (PE) Instructors & Coaches for a period of around 10 months starting from June /July 2017 on contractual basis for providing instructions and coaching for the following:

1. Physical Education Instructors (PEI) for Sports Activity Sports & Games:

Athletics (01), Badminton (01), Basketball (01), Cricket (01), Football (01), Hockey (01), Lawn Tennis (01), *Swimming (01), Table Tennis (01), Volleyball (01), *Weight Lifting (01), Yoga (01).

*Subject to approval.

Minimum Qualification:

1. 1. A bachelor degree in physical education / any graduate + Diploma in PE.
   
   
2. 2. For yoga instructor - any graduate + diploma in yoga therapy/yoga studies etc. from a recognized university or an eminent institution with a well established reputation in the field of yoga teaching and practice.
   
   
3. 3. Specialization in respective discipline.
   
   
4. 4. Minimum 2 years of service experience in educational institution of repute.
   
   

Desirable: Candidates having knowledge of conducting practical oriented curriculum in the relevant discipline, preparation of lesson plan, carryout assessment, record and report on the development achieved and ability to use resource for a range of teaching and learning methods in the discipline.

2. Coaches for Inter IIT Sports Meet and National Sports Organization (NSO) courses:

Athletics (01), Badminton (01), Basketball (01), Cricket (01), Football (01), Hockey (01), Lawn Tennis (01), Table Tennis (01), Volleyball (01), Weightlifting (01), Water Polo (01), Gym (01), Squash (01).

Minimum Qualification:

1. 1. Diploma in Coaching from NSNIS (Atleast one year course) OR equivalent / represented India in relevant sports at international level / medal winner in University or State at national level / represented University or State at national level.
   
   
2. 2. For Gym. Coach - any recognized degree with minimum 2 years of service experience in govt. registered gymnasium preferably with bodybuilding back ground.
   
   
3. 3. Minimum 2 years of service experience in educational institution of repute.

• The link will be activated from June 1, 2017 (10 AM) and will be closed on June 10, 2017 (5 PM).
  
  
• The list of the shortlisted candidates will be displayed only on IITG webpage (www.iitg.ernet.in/recruitment/index) for attending practical test & interview. As such the candidates are advised to visit IITG webpage regularly in the month of June 2017.
  
  
• The shortlisted candidates should bring all original documents on the day of practical test and interview.
  
  
• It is mandatory for the candidates of Govt. / PSU employee to submit no objection certificate issued by the employer of the organization at the time of certificate verification.
  
  
• Selection will be based on the qualification, practical and interview performance of the candidate.
  
  
• Simply satisfying minimum requirement need not guarantee appointment.
  
  
• Minimum requirement of qualification and experience may be relaxed in case of exceptionally outstanding candidates.
  
  
• No TA/DA is permissible for attending the practical test & interview.
  
  
• Decision of the selection committee will be final.
  
  

Duty hours: 6 days in a week from 4.00pm to 9.00pm.

Remuneration:

Maximum of Rs.25,000/- per month based on qualification and experience. The total duration of likely engagements will be 10 months and may be extended for another 10 months depending upon performance.
