Advertisement for the post of RA/Postdoc under the DST-SERB Funded Project, at Institute of Nano Science and Technology

Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement as Research Associate (RA)/Postdoc in the research project jointly funded by DST-SERB, Government of India, at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali. This project will be conducted in close collaboration with Dr. Deepa Ghosh.

Title of the Project: Isolation of nutraceuticals through derivatization from plant food residues and their biological evaluation

Number of positions available: One

Qualification:

Essential: Ph.D. degree or thesis submitted in the area of Organic Chemistry.

Desirable: Research experience in natural products, synthetic organic chemistry, metal catalysed reactions. Experience in photo physical characterization techniques and basic biological techniques will be preferred but not mandatory.

Age limit: Must not be over 35 years as on 15th January 2018 which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.

Salary: Rs.36,000/- + 10% HRA for Research Associate/ Rs. 45,000/- (consolidated) for Post-Doc

Duration of Engagement: Initially for one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate.

General Terms and Conditions:

The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years. The position is co-terminus with the project.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, however, candidates residing beyond 500 km from Mohali may opt for online interview.
