Postdoctoral Fellowship, JRF and Research Assistantship under DST sponsored ALICE Project entitled ALICE-Operation and Utilization

The Indian Institute of Technology Indore invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF), a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and a Project Assistant in its High Energy Physics Experimental program under ALICE experiment at LHC, CERN, Geneva. The positions are initially for one-year duration and may be extended to another year subjected to satisfactory performance of the candidates. JRF position may be extended to lead to a complete Ph.D. work. The research work involves ALICE data analysis related to the possible formation of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) created in heavy-ion collisions.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Post Doctoral Fellow: Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy/Nuclear Physics/Particle Physics, with experience in data analysis using ROOT based analysis tools. Those who are about to submit the Ph.D. thesis or have submitted and yet to get the degree are also eligible to apply.
   
   
2. Junior Research Fellow: 1^st class M.Sc. degree in Physics (NET/GATE preferred).
   
   
3. Research Assistant: 1^st class M.Sc. degree in Physics/BTech from IITs.
   
   

Fellowship: PDF: Rs. 22,000/-/Rs. 24,000/-+ 20% HRA/month (as per the DST norms and candidates experience) JRF: Rs. 16,000/-p.m. + 20% HRA for NET-JRF/GATE, Rs. 12,000/-p.m. + 20% HRA for NET-LS, Rs. 10,000/-p.m. without NET/GATE.

Project Assistant: A fixed fellowship of Rs. 8000/-p.m.
