Walk in Interview for the post of Project Associate/ JRF in the IIT Mandi funded project (Ref. IITM/SG/HP/54) at IIT Mandi.

Title of the Research Project: Development and Implementation of Extended Finite Element (XFEM) Model for Ductile Crack Growth in Structural Engineering Applications.

Position: 01 (JRF or Project Associate)

Tenure: 01 year for JRF and 2 years for Project Associate (Subjected to fund availability and candidate performance).

Date of Interview: March 30, 2018 (Friday) at 11 am.

Venue: A-4 Conference Room, South Campus (Kamand), IIT Mandi.

Salary Consolidated: 25,000/- INR (for JRF) and 12,000/- INR (for Project Associate)

Essential Qualification:
	JRF:	M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical (Design/CAD)
		and B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
		with 60% Aggregate or 6.5 CGPA
	Project Associate:	B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
		with 60% Aggregate or 6.5 CGPA
Desirable Qualification:

o Knowledge of ABAQUS/ANSYS Package for Structural Design Analysis,

o Knowledge of MATLAB programming,

o Hand-on experience on Fracture and Fatigue Test, XRD, TEM, TGA and SEM.

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 35 years.

Main Responsibilities:

o Perform fatigue and fracture simulation and experiments, UTM test and other mechanical characterisation of material.

o Assistance in purchasing laboratory equipment and their maintenance.

o Detailed regular documentation of the project.

The nature of the post is purely temporary (on contract basis). The initial appointment will be for a period of 6 months, and can be extend further subject to the performance of the candidate.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
