Subject: Selection to the Post of Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Boardreg.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for selection and appointment on deputation basis (including short-term contract) to the post of Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi.

1. The CPCB was established under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution), Act 1974. The CPCB exercises functions related to prevention and control of pollution. The Member Secretary shall be a full time incumbent.
   
   
2. The following are the terms and conditions for the post of Member Secretary CPCB,
   
   

Delhi:-
Scale of Pay	Level - 13A,1,31,100/- to2,16,600/- of the Pay
	Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission.
	(Pay Band t 37,400/- to 3 67,000/- with Grade Pay of t
	8900/- as per the 6th CPC)
Method of Recruitment	By deputation
Terms and Conditions	The Member Secretary will be governed by the terms
	and conditions applicable to officers of equivalent rank
	under Central Government
(A) Qualification and	Officers of the Central Government or State Government
Experience	or Public Sector Undertaking or University or
	Government Research Institution or Autonomous or
	Statutory Body-
	(a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the
	parent cadre or Department; or
	(it) with two years service in the grade rendered after
	appointment thereto on regular basis in the Level-13 of
	the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission (6th CPC- Pay
	Band-4 of t 37,400/--67,000/- with Grade Pay of
	8700/-) or officers with six years service in the grade
	rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in
	the Level-12 of the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission
	(6th CPC - Pay Band-3 oft 15,600/--39,100/- with Grade
	Pay oft 7600/-) or equivalent in the parent cadre or

Department; and

(b)

Possessing the following qualification and experience:-

(i)

Master's degree in Science or degree in Engineering from a recognized institute or university or equivalent; and

(ii)

Twelve (12) years experience in the regular Group-`A' posts, not below the rank and pay scale of Level-11 of the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission (6th CPC - Pay Band-3 of 15,600/-- 39,100/- with Grade Pay of 6600/-), in Government Department or Institution or Central Public Sector Undertaking or University or Government Research Institution or Autonomous or Statutory body at the administrative or managerial level with practical experience in matters relating to scientific, engineering or management aspects of pollution control; and

(B) Desirable Ph.D. in Science relating to Environment or M.Tech in Engineering in a discipline relating to Environment from a recognized institute or University or equivalent

Tenure Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organization or Department or the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

Age Limit The maximum age limit of appointment by deputation shall not be exceeding fifty six (56) years as on the closing date of the receipt of applications, provided candidate fulfills the other eligibility conditions for the post.

Note 1:- Officers working in the Central or State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or University or Government Research Institution or Autonomous or Statutory Body may send their application in four (4) sets through proper channel along with attested copies of up-to-date Annual Confidential Report (ACR)/Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) dossier (to be attested by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary or equivalent), Integrity Certificate, details of minor/major penalties imposed, if any, and vigilance clearance. In case of such officers the concerned parent Ministry / Department / Organization before forwarding the application should strictly ensure that the applicant officer fulfils the eligibility criteria stipulated for the post as explained above.

Note 2: The applications not received through proper channel within the due date shall be rejected.

Note 3:- The outstation candidates who will be called for interview shall be reimbursed to and fro economy class air fare or rail fare of 1" AC by train via shortest route on submission of relevant travel documents.
