Advertisement for a RA Position

Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Research Associate (RA) in a CSIR funded research project titled "Development of an Efficient Scalable Clustering Algorithm for Big Data and Investigation of Integrated System for Protein Sequence Classification".

The task of the RA would be to design and develop scalable iterative fuzzy based clustering and classification approaches to handle Big nodes in Apache Spark cluster set up. It is further proposed to use these approaches to handle variety of huge genomics data with different geometrical distribution to come up with the faster, accurate identification and efficient grouping of large number of proteins sequences for the identification of conserved regions and estimation of putative function of large number of proteins which are currently unknown.

Eligibility as per CSIR norms:

PhD degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after ME/MTech in at least one research paper in reputed journal/conference.

Maximum age 35 years. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically handicapped candidates

Degree should be in Computer Science/computational mathematics. A background of artificial intelligence or soft-computing or machine learning or data mining is strongly recommended.

Stipend:

The amount of fellowship will be as per CSIR norms (Rs. 36,000 per month plus HRA).

Duration:

Appointment is for one year.
