The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Physics. The Institute has its main campus in Koramangala, Bangalore and CREST Campus at Hosakote, Bangalore. It operates field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur in Karnataka, and Leh/Hanle in Jammu & Kashmir. The Institute has taken up the responsibility of building space-based Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) on Aditya-L1 mission along with Indian Space Research Organisation.

Eligible young, bright and highly motivated individuals are invited to attend Walk-in interview on 15th March, 2018 at the Institute Campus, 2nd Block, Koramangala, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore 560 034 between 09.00 AM and 05.00 PM for the following positions to work for the Aditya Project:

Name of the Position : LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL)

Remuneration : Rs. 30,000/- per month

Qualification : Diploma in Electrical or SSLC (or equivalent) and two years NCVT certificate Course (ITI) in Electrical OR any equivalent trade, from a Govt. recognized Polytechnics/Industrial Training Institute with minimum 60% marks is essential.

Experience:

For Diploma Holders : 2 Years of work experience with minimum of one year in a reputed research institute/industry involved in clean room operations.

For ITI Holders : 5 years of work experience with minimum of 2 years in a reputed research institute / industry involved in clean room operations.

The candidates should be well-versed in maintenance of electrical/electronic equipments such as UPS, vacuum pumps, baking chamber, variable frequency drives, Building management system, CCTV, Access control, Fire Alarm etc,. Candidates should be well versed in clean room protocols & operations.

Desirable: Conversant with electrical installations of VFD's, De-Humidifiers, AHU's & Chillers are desirable.

Job Requirements : Candidate may be required to attend the emergency maintenance and testing work during nights and should be willing to work on shift basis.

The candidates should register their name between 09.00 AM and 10.00 AM on the date of Walk-in-interview and the candidates coming beyond this time will not be entertained.

Terms & Conditions:

1. The appointment is purely temporary on contract basis and does not confer any privilege or benefit applicable to regular employment. No claim whatsoever for regular employment in the Institute shall be entertained.

2. The tenure of appointment is initially for one year, may last till the duration of the project and will co-terminate with the project completion. Continuation of contract of appointment is subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate and requirement of the project as judged by the Institute on annual basis.

3. The remuneration indicated is a consolidated and is inclusive of all allowances.

4. There will be annual increase in the remuneration based on satisfactory performance.

5. The date of determining the upper age limit, qualifications and experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of completed applications.

6. Age relaxation is permissible to SC, ST & OBC candidates and also to physically handicapped candidate as notified by Government of India from time to time.

7. The candidates selected will be posted to work in the project at IIA, Bengaluru and are liable to be posted anywhere in India as per the requirement of the Project.

8. Candidates of Indian Nationality only can attend the walk-in interview.

9. The Institute reserves the right to cancel the entire recruitment process at any time without assigning any reasons whatsoever.

10. No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates not selected for interview/appointment. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

11. Candidates meeting the above requirements and willing to be considered for the above said position may attend the walk-in interview.

12. Misrepresentation or falsification of facts detected at any stage of the selection process or instances of misconduct/misbehaviour at any stage during selection process shall result in cancellation of candidature without any notice and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
