Qualifications

Bachelor in Veterinary Sciences with atleast 10 years of working experience.

Experience

Minimum ten years post qualification experience as Veterinarian and registered with Veterinary Council of India.

Period of Retainership

The period of retainership is for one year.

Scope of work

1. To streamline the process of meat inspection, verification and certification system of meat plants.

2. To verify various aspects of hygiene as specified in HACCP and ISO process of meat plants.

3. To verify Livestock conditions before and after slaughter from the point of view of Veterinary, Ante & Post Mortem Process.

4. To verify lab testing methods, slaughtering speed, chilling, freezing, PH determination and temperature testing methods throughout the meat slaughtering and processing.

5. To perform as technical expert who would continuously help APEDA in improvement in the quality of meat plants inspection.

6. To deal in other technical issues pertaining to market access, OIE, animal husbandry etc.

7. To accompany APEDA officials and foreign delegations to visit Meat Plants.

Fee :

Retainership fee of Rs. 2000/- per man day only. No other allowances will be admissible.
