FOR FOLLOWING POSTS PURELY ON SHORT TERM CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) is a premier Institute of National and International repute, devoted to research in various aspects of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences. The Institute has excellent infra-structural facilities such as High Performance Computers, Library, State of the Art Training facilities and other scientific support. The Institute is currently looking for recruiting the following positions purely on short term contract basis initially for a period of one year and extendable depending on performance:

Essential Qualifications

:

First Class in M.Tech./M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences / Atmospheric Sciences having basic knowledge in the field of air pollution, remote sensing and meteorology.

Desirable Experience

:

Some experience of scientific data analysis, participation in field campaign and basic knowledge of in programming language.

:

Data analysis of various air quality and weather parameters

Consolidated Salary

:

` 22,000/- per month

BE/ B.Tech. (Computer Science/ IT) / MCA / MCM or Equivalent.

Work experience of 2-3 years in reputed organization, Institute, IT Industry, NGO in the area of website designing & development.

Certificate/ Degree in Library Science

Experience

:

Skills: Server side scripting language (PHP, JSP, etc.); Programming language (Java, etc); Javascript/ JQuery, CSS, CMS; database ( MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc); Operating systems (Windows, Linux); content design software (photoshop, Corel Draw etc)

Hands on experience on PHP, Java script, MySQL are required. Web development on LINUX platform and working knowledge in CorelDraw /Photoshop / Flash is essential.

Work experience in website & scientific portal application development, handling official social media sites

Nature of Work

:

a) IITM website designing, development & content management
b) Performance and functionality testing of IITM website
c) Development and management of Institutional repository using DSpace and Eprints
d) IT support for IITM official social media sites ( Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc)
e) Development of eResource Management & Archival system for IITM Library (for IITM subscribed journal articles)
f) Designing contents for website, social media sites using CorelDraw/ photoshop
g) Information mining
h) Development of online document delivery system
i) Retrospective conversion related work
j) IT support to Library management software in IITM Library
k) Any other duties assigned by Head of Division time to time

Consolidated Salary

:

Rs. 22,000/- per month

Age limit 35 years as on 01.07.2016. (Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for physically handicapped and as per rule for ex-servicemen).
