Research Assistant position available in a research project funded by DST Climate Change SPLICE MDRP program at IISER Mohali in research group led by Dr. Vinayak Sinha
IISER-Mohali (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences) desires to engage a RESEARCH ASSISTANT under the DST sponsored research project at IISER-Mohali. Last date for applications is 30.07.2017

Name of Position: Research Assistant Grade III (as per DST norms)
Essential Qualification: PhD in Botany / Ecology / Plant Systematics. Prior experience in planning and designing field work involving vegetation is necessary.
Background in plant volatile emission, air pollution mitigation using plants and experience of analytical techniques such as gas chromatography are highly desirable. The project will involve field work in the Himalayas so candidates should be willing to undertake field work. The work will involve travel to remote locations including forests. The work is physically demanding and candidate must be physically fit. Conditions in the field can be harsh and facilities available at field station may be limited at times. Thus, it is critical that the candidate is highly motivated and passionate about field-based research.
Emoluments:. Rs 40000 per month plus 10% HRA As per DST Rules
Duration: Initially for 1 year and extendable subject for up to 2 additional years subject to satisfactory performance
