Walk-in Interview for the posts of Assistant Curator & Museum Educator on 9th August 2017

The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture is seeking qualified candidates for contractual engagement in the Museum Section. A Walk-in-Interview will be held in the office of Deputy Director, NMML on the date and time mentioned below against the posts. All the posts are to be filled up on full-time and purely contractual basis, initially for a period of one year. Interested candidates may appear for interview with a copy of updated CV, two passport size photographs and self-attested copies of testimonials. Details of the Contractual Positions Nehru Memorial Museum, Teen Murti House, New Delhi

Post: Assistant Curator

Number of Positions: 2 (Two)

Remuneration: Rs. 27,000/- consolidated per month.

Job Description: The post-holder will be responsible for conceptualization and implementation of Exhibitions & display, Documentation &collection, and Education related activities of the museum. They would also be required to conduct Visitor Studies for accounting the feedback of visitors regarding content, display and other services and to induce Souvenir items for Museum Shop and Museum Publications- catalogues, pamphlets, brochures, regular blogs about Nehru Memorial Museum and other related Museum works.

Eligibility: The applicants applying for the post of Assistant Curator must hold the following qualifications.

Essential: Masters Degree in Museology/ Modern Indian History from a recognized University with one year experience of working in a Museum of national importance. Working knowledge of MS Office is a must.

Desirable: Preference would be given to the candidates with experience in Museum Exhibitions and Display, Research and developing Museum Outreach programmes in museums or similar institutions.

Post: Museum Educator (One)

Number of Positions: 1 (One)

Remuneration: Rs. 27,000/- consolidated per month.

Job Description: The post-holder will be responsible for conceptualization and implementation of Museum Outreach Programs, conducting Educational Events and Programs, Develop the Museum Database of Schools and educational institutions, effective collaborations with NGOs, schools for increase in Museum footfall, design and develop Outreach Kits for Visitors, organise film screenings, book reading sessions and other related activities.

Eligibility: The applicants applying for the post of Museum Educator must hold the following qualifications.

Essential: Post-graduates of a subject such as Museum Studies/ Museology/Education/History of Art/ History/ Humanities with excellent computer and writing skills in English/Hindi.

Desirable: Preference to candidates with experience in developing Museum Outreach Programs, conducting Educational Events and Programs in Museum or Schools.
