National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar, has been setup at Jatni in Khurda District of Odisha by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India as a unique institution of its kind pursuing undergraduate and post-graduate education in sciences combined with frontline research. The campus of NISER at Jatni is spread over a sprawling 300 acres of land on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. It will be a fully residential campus with all modern living amenities including children's school, health centre, banking facilities etc.

Essential Qualifications:

Scientific Officer-C: MSc in Physics with special paper on Condensed Matter Physics / Electronics / Instrumentation.

Scientific Officer-D: PhD in Physics related to the area of experimental condensed Matter physics / Material Physics with usage of Ion-Beam Techniques / Atomic Physics / Beam Optics

Desirable Qualification:

Age : Not more than 45 years as on June 12, 2017.

Job Profile:

The Scientific Officer will be fully involved in day-to-day activities of the beam diagnostics and delivering at the end station. He/she has to prepare the target, take care of the 400 keV high voltage DECK, the bending magnets, the cryogenics for UH Vacuum and the beam lines, and electronics accessories needed for it. He/she has to understand the beam optics and charge states extraction to deliver the beam at the end station, which normally passed through 2 bending magnets, few quadruple magnets, and beam scanner with many controlled parameters. He/she has to manage the user requirements for ion implantation and frequently interact with the user committee set up by the institute.
