Animal Welfare Division [Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA)] ***

Applications are invited for the post of Expert Consultants in the Office of the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA) based at Delhi. The CPCSEA has been constituted by the Government under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 for the purpose of control and supervision of experiments on animals. The Committee is required to register breeders and establishments performing experiments on animals; ensure maintenance of standards for animal housing facilities; regulate transfer and acquisition of animals for experiments etc. so as to ensure that animals are not subjected to unnecessary pain or suffering before, during or after the performance of experiments.

1 Expert Consultant Masters Degree in any one of the following fields:-Veterinary Science, Medicine, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Life Sciences including Zoology, Chemistry and Botany. Basic knowledge of working on computers with windows and internet softwares.
JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Advice related to the welfare of animals meant for Experimentation in Research Institutes, Pharmaceutical Companies and Educational Institutions. 2. To ensure implementation of CPCSEA Rules made under PCA Act, 1960 for welfare of animals. 3. Analyze Inspection Reports submitted by CPCSEA Nominee and scrutinize the minutes of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) meeting submitted by the establishment(s). 4. To comment on the proposals of Export and Import of laboratory animals and their blood, bile and tissues samples. 5. Inspection of Animal House Facilities of Establishments, Institutes and Centers where
  1. Examination of Research Protocols for experimentation on animals.
  2. To manage meetings of CPCSEA.
  3. Preparation of Agenda for the said meetings, minutes of the meetings and follow-up action thereon.
  4. Processing of RTI, Parliament matters and Court Cases and relating to CPCSEA.
  1. They must have atleast three years of relevant experience and a known concern for animal welfare. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The maximum age for all the posts is 60 years. Retired Government officials may also apply. The tentative remuneration for Expert Consultants would be between Rs. 26000-40000 per month.
  2. All appointments will be purely ad-hoc for not more than one year, extendable every year after that as per their performance. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
