ADVERTISEMENT TO FILLUP PROJECT POSITIONS*

Applications are invited from Indian nationals only for project position(s) as per the details given below for the consultancy/research project(s) under the Principal investigator (Name: Prof Arun Kumar, Alternate Hydro Energy Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

1. Title of project: Hydro Turbine R&D Laboratory

2. Sponsor of the project: SRIC Fund, IIT Roorkee

3. Project position(s) and number: Chief of Hydraulic Turbine R&D Laboratory 01 No.

4. A. Qualifications: (i) Engineer in mechanical or electrical (Bachelor) with at least 20 years experience and out of which minimum 8 years leading position of hydraulic turbine laboratory

(ii) Good knowledge in English language

B. Experience: (i) Experience in turbomachinery, preferable in hydro turbines

(ii) Experience in measuring technique, preferably in turbine efficiency measurements

(iii) Experience in mechanical design and fabrication

(iv) Well versed in CFD analysis of Hydro Turbine

(v) Ability to understand and communicate IEC regulations

(vi) International exposure with various model testing laboratories

(vii) Well versed and responsible to get NABL accreditation

5. Emoluments: Rs. 2 to 3 Lakhs + HRA per month

6. Duration: Three years

7. Job description/ Responsibilities :

Time schedules

Overall responsibility of Model testing and laboratory

Cost analysis (laboratory costs and costs of model turbine)

Managing and guidance model tests for research purposes

Managing independent model tests for national and international partners (manufacturers, hydro power companies, and consultants)

Test report Analysis and conclusions

Keeping the laboratory in an international competitive standard

Forcing working discipline

All technical and partly commercial dealing with customer

Act as principal investigator for procurement and works activities

General Instructions:

1. Candidates before appearing for the interview shall ensure that they are eligible for the position they intend to apply.

Application on a plain paper with detailed CV including chronological discipline of degree/certificates obtained.

Experience including industrial field and others.

Attested copies of degree/certificate and experience certificate.

3. Candidate shall bring along with them the original degree(s)/certificate(s) and experience certificate(s) at the time of interview for verification.

4. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.

5. Please note that no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

About the Laboratory: With the support of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India an international-level hydro turbine R&D laboratory has been commissioned at Alternate Hydro Energy Centre (AHEC), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee in 2017. The laboratory is a design and validation facility besides facilitating research in small and large hydro turbines conforming to national and international standards IEC 60193 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
