Call for Proposals for Financial Assistance under Assistance to Botanic Garden Scheme

Botanical Survey of India, Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India invites proposals, in the prescribed proforma from the eligible Botanic Gardens for one time financial assistance under Assistance to Botanic Garden Scheme for development and strengthening the infrastructural facilities, equipment, etc., to carryout conservation, propagation and rehabilitation of Rare, Endemic and Threatened (RET) plant species of the region.

Who are eligible to apply?

Botanic Gardens preferably with 5 acres or above land, but not less than 2 acres, maintained by the Departments of Botany/Life Sciences in Universities and Colleges sponsored by government, Research Institutions/ Organizations/ State Forest/ Environment/ Science & Technology/ Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Social Forestry Departments/Urban Development/Local Self Government, Municipal Corporations and Municipal Committees and Town areas are eligible for financial assistance. The recipient of assistance must have access to the expertise of taxonomists.

How to apply and where to submit?

Proposal should be made in the prescribed proforma as given in the Guidelines for the Assistance to Botanic Garden Scheme. 5 copies of proposals in prescribed format duly signed by Principal Investigator (PI) in all respect should be submitted to the Director, Botanical Survey of India, CGO Complex, 3rd MSO Building, DF-Block, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700064, West Bengal. A PDF format of the proposal should be sent to the following e-mail; bsi.abg@gmail.com. It is further informed that a separate soft copy of the abstract budget (in MS Word format) is also to be submitted along with PDF.

The detailed guidelines for the assistance, including objectives of the scheme, eligibility criteria and the proforma for submitting the proposal can be downloaded from the website of ministry (http://www.moef.nic.in/division/guidelines).

The proposals devoid of Preliminary Estimates, Abstract Budget, Certificates, not duly signed by the PI, not in prescribed format or received after 29th December 2017 will be summarily rejected.
