Essential Qualification : a) PhD in Physics OR

b) M.Sc. in Physics with minimum 5 years of post qualification experience in specialized areas of detector development (gas or silicon based) that are used in high or low energy nuclear/particle physics experiments.

Desirable: Candidates having working experience in detector development related to the area Nuclear and Particle Physics will be preferred.

Age : Not more than 40 years as on 31^st October 2016

Job Profile: NISER Faculties are active participants in BNL and CERN based experimental collaboration in high energy physics. They are expected to join future high energy physics experiments in India and Abroad. The primary work of the officer will be to work on establishment of a gas and silicon based laboratory to cater to the needs of the high energy physics experiments and to carry out R&D efforts ongoing/planned at NISER with respect to the said field. The officer may also have to take experimental shifts and other responsibilities as desired/required by the experimental collaborations and participate /represent NISER at various forums in such experimental collaborations.

In addition to the basic salary, NISER staff member are entitled to the allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees.

The Performance Related Incentive Scheme (PRIS) of DAE may be applicable to NISER (subject to orders from DAE), under which, there is a provision for monthly incentive of 20% of the basic pay.

Scientific Officers are also eligible for DAEs update allowance, depending upon their scale and pay
