Advertisement for En ement of one Law Researcher on short-term contractual basis.

Applications are invited from Indian citizens who fulfil the following Essential Qualifications and other eligibility conditions, as on 19.01.2018, to work as LawResearcher in the National Legal Services Authority purely on contractual basis on a fixed consolidated. stipend of Rs.30,000/-per month initially for 6 months. However, the contract can be terminated at any point of time without any notice.

Method of selection: Selection shall be made on the basis of Interview. A final select list shall be prepared as per requirement on the basis of Interview.

Minimum Educational Qualifications, Age Limit, Leave, Duty Hours and Terms and Conditions are as per annexure 'A' i.e the "scheme for engaging Law Researcher on short term contract basis in National Legal Services Authority".

It is made clear that the engagement as Law Researcher is a full time job and purely contractual in nature. It will not confer any right on the selected candidates to claim regular appointment/continuance in service in the National Legal Services Authority. The last date of receiving the application is 19.01.2018 till 5:00 pm.

General Instructions:

(1)

The applicants would be called for the Interview on the basis of the information furnished by them in their application form. They are, therefore, advised to ensure that they fulftl all eligibility conditions before applying. If any candidate is found to have given false information or does not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, the candidature of such applicant would be cancelled and no coffespondence in this regard would be entertained.

The date of interview for the said posts will be informed only through e-mail. Call letter for interview will NOT confer any right for selection.

APPLICATIONS WHICH DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS SHALL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED The candidate should bear in mind while applying for the said engagement that he/she will be required to work even at odd hours and on holidays, if so required. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.

SCHEME FOR ENGAGING IAW RESEARCHER ON SHORTTERM CONTRACT BASTS IN THE NATIONAL LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY

ln order to discharge its function under section a(g) of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987 to undertake and promote research work in the field of Legal Services, the National Legal Services Authority may appoint Law Researcher on temporary basis on Short term Contract with the approval of the. Executive Chairman, NALSA.

L. Essential Qualifications:

(i) The candidate must be having _a Bachelor _{Degree in Law} (including lntegrated Degree Course in Law) as on the date of appearing at interview

from any lnstitute established by law in lndia and recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.

^{(ii) Candidate studying in the fifth year of the Five-Year lntegrated Law Course will also be eligible to apply subject to completion of the 5th year course before appointment as Law Researcher.}

(iii) The candidate must have _{knowledge of computer including retrieval of}

desired information from various search engines/processes such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc.

2. Erlgagement:

(i)

Law Researcher shall _{be engaged on purely short-term contract basis initially for six months or for the duration of the work assigned which may}

be extended further for such period as may be considered appropriate subject to his/her satisfactory performance.

The contractual assignment shall not confer upon the Law Researcher any right/claim for regular appointment or continuance in service beyond the initial period of engagement in the National Legal services Authority.

(iii) A Law Researcher may be terminated without assigning any reason by giving one month's notice. A Law Researcher intending to leave assignment at premature stage shall be required to give prior notice in writing at least for one month in advance.

1. Age and Nationalitv: A candidate must not be below the age of 2t years as on the last date of receipt of applications and must be a citizen of lndia.
   
   
2. Consolidated stipend: A fixed consolidated stipend of Rs.30,000/-per month without any dearness or other allowance/perquisites shall be paid to the Law' Researcher.

The Law Researcher shall be granted leave _@ L2 days in a year which can be accumulated through the entire period of engagement.

(ii)

No stipend shall be paid for unauthorized absence as a lso for days exceeding permissible leave.

6. Dutv Hours: lt is full time ^job and Law Researcher may be required to attend normal duty during office hours. lf required, the Law Researcher may be called for on Saturday/Sunday and gazetted holidays. The Law Researcher wilt be entitled for compensatory leave in lieu of duty performed on holidays.
