Initial tenure of engagement for a person as Consultant would be upto 3 years Extension beyond three years will be considered under exceptional circumstances with the approval of Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog.

Remuneration (per month)

In accordance with para 6 of the Consultancy guidelines No. A-12013/02/2015- Adm. I(B) dated 09-09-2016. The guidelines are placed on NITI Aayogs website www.niti.gov.in.

Education qualification

The candidate must have at least one of the following essential qualifications:

Essential

i. PG in any discipline

ii. Bachelors of Engineering or Technology (B.E. or B. Tech)

Desirable

i. Ph.D.

ii. Masters of Engineering or Technology

Experience

Candidates should have minimum five years post-qualification experience in accordance with Consultancy guidelines. The work experience requirement may be relaxed in exceptional cases in respect of deserving candidates.

If there is an outstanding candidate, who has more than 10 years experience of a very high order and exceptional talent, he may be considered for being designated as Senior Consultant.

The candidate must clearly specify the period of experience as that is necessary for determining the remuneration of the selected candidate in accordance with the Consultancy guidelines.

Retired Government employees with pre-revised grade pay of Rs. 7600 and above OR Level 12 in the Pay Matrix or above, having experience of 5 years in the required domain field would also be eligible for the position.

Job description

a) To help in policy making, analysis, evaluation and framing guidelines for implementation in the assigned sector.

b) Developing medium and long term strategic frameworks, sectoral policies vision and strategy across schemes, regions and time.

c) Developing domain strategies to build a repository of specialized domain expertise.

d) Experience in Governance, Public Administration Reforms, Organisational Development and Change.

e) Experience in fields such as Economics, Finance, Education, Industry, Public Health, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Climate Change, Power and Energy, Engineering, Urban Planning and Infrastructure, Social Sectors.
