ADVERTISEMENT FOR INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR FULL TIME FACULTY & FULL TIME INSTRUCTORS PURELY ON CONTRACT BASIS AT MTI POWAI

Maritime Training Institute, Powai, the training branch of the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. - a Navaratna PSU is looking for faculties / instructors on full time contract basis for the Nautical subjects/courses and Marine Engineering subjects/courses.

NO. OF POSTS:

Total 4 nos. of Faculties (2 nos. for Nautical studies & 2 nos. for Marine Engineering Studies) Total 3 nos. of Instructors (2 nos. for nautical subjects/courses & 1 no. for engineering subjects/course)

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:

Strictly on full time contract basis valid for 1 year from the date of engagement of contract, extendable by one more year on sole discretion of SCI.

QUALIFICATION / EMOLUMENTS:

Rs.1,25000/- per month (TDS as per Income Tax Dept. guidelines)
3	Nautical Instructors: From Ex Indian Navy Seaman Branch / Deck / Engine Petty Officer.	2	Must have sailing experience or served in the seamanship branch on Naval ships, or as a Deck / Engine Petty officer on Merchant Ships.	Rs.40,000/- per month (TDS as per Income Tax Dept. guidelines)
4	Engineering Instructor: From Ex Indian Navy Seaman Branch/Engine Petty Officer.	1	Must have sailing experience or served in the seamanship branch on Naval ships, or as an Engine Petty Officer on Merchant Ships.	Rs.40,000/- per month (TDS as per Income Tax Dept. guidelines)

*Preference will be given to applicants for faculties below 55 years of age, and with teaching experience in similar maritime training institutes.

** Applicants should posses D.G. approved certificate of Training for Trainers and Assessors (TOTA) / Training for Trainers and Instructors (TOTI). If not attended and obtained TOTA / TOTI Certificate, same to be obtained within 6 months from joining MTI at applicant's own cost and time from any D.G. approved Institute.

AGE:

The age of the applicant for the post of faculty should not be more than 65years as on 1stJune 2017 as per DGS Guidelines. Should be physically fit for carrying out the duties as required.

Age of the applicant for the post of Instructor should not be more than 60 years as on 1st

June 2017. Should be physically fit for carrying out the duties as required.

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Working hours per day will be 8 hours with flexi-timing, all six weekdays.

Other terms & conditions of the full time contract employment will be laid out in the offer letter extended to the selected applicants.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The scope of work will include academic and non-academic activities at SCI-MTI. Reporting and other details shall be elaborately laid out in the contract offer letter, if selected.

SELECTION PROCESS:

The interviews will be held at Mumbai at The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. Maritime Training Institute, 52-C, Adi Shankracharya Marg, Powai, Mumbai 400 072. Candidates who are found eligible as per above mentioned eligibility criteria would be considered for the selection process. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interviews at MTI Powai, Mumbai and time and date of the interview will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates through email. Candidates have to make their own arrangements for stay in Mumbai during the interview and no travelling allowance shall be paid.
