The lab will be focused on technology development to build reporters for cell signaling as well as uncovering the basic mechanisms of signaling, especially in the context of cell adhesion and cell migration. This would be a perfect opportunity for EITHER biology graduates who have an interest in building fluorescent biosensors and imaging OR chemistry graduates who are interested in various chemical biology and protein engineering approaches for biosensing. Our approach is very interdisciplinary in nature and will employ diverse methods for probe development and solving outstanding problems in cell signaling. We are specifically interested in using high-throughput screening and high-content imaging to build suitable biosensors. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with other outstanding groups at inStem and NCBS in epithelial and adhesion biology, technology development and stem cell biology.
