1. Answer the following:
a. How similar/dissimilar is the concept of geographical indication to concept of trademark in relation to use of indications on a product? (Marks 05)
b. What are homonymous geographical indications and how are they protected under international instruments? (Marks 05)
2. Answer the following:
a. Why are geographical indications relevant to the economy of a country especially developing countries? Support your arguments with examples. (Marks 06)
b. Evaluate whether "Sheffield Cutlery" can be a protected indication under Lisbon Agreement. (Marks 04)
3. "All geographical indications and appellation of origins are indications of source but not vice versa, all appellation of origins are geographical indications but not vice versa."
With help of arguments based on law and appropriate illustrations, argue for or against the above statement. (Marks 10)
