1. Define and classify direct retainers. Explain in detail the various types of
extra coronal direct retainers.
2. Define immediate complete denture. Describe in detail the indication,
contraindication, advantages, disadvantages and the procedures involved in
fabricating an immediate complete denture.

3. Define stability in complete dentures. Discuss the various factors affecting
stability in complete dentures.
4. Enumerate various impression techniques used for distal extension partial
denture. Describe altered cast technique.
5. Explain in detail the supporting and limiting structures of maxillary and
mandibular edentulous arch.
6. Enumerate failures in fixed partial dentures. Add a note on its care and
maintenance.
